About Lumos Technology Services

Lumos Technology Services began in January 2019 out of a desire to help people. Founder and President, Moses Varghese, saw that so many companies were unaware when it came to cybersecurity, and were therefore, extremely vulnerable to threats to the security and operations of their businesses. Moses had owned his own small business before and knew the pressures which that entailed and how tough a disruption in business could be to core relationships with vendors, customers, and employees. This created a desire in him to build a new IT company which focuses on security and privacy throughout all facets of the IT process. Moses began supporting a handful of clients on his own and eventually came across Hardeman Company, a family office with the mission of acquiring and managing small businesses. Hardeman has a long-term investment horizon, a concern for their companies’ legacies and the wellbeing of all stakeholders, and a commitment to always doing the right thing.

Hardeman’s DNA and vision were a perfect fit for Moses. Together Moses and Hardeman founded Lumos Technology Services, which began servicing all the companies in the Hardeman portfolio leading to immediate technology upgrades and best-in-class service. With a strong commitment to its core values of integrity, humility, passion, persistence, and excellence, Lumos provides values-driven IT services to all clients, delivering valuable customer education and ensuring satisfaction in all support interactions.

The Lumos vision is to bring enterprise architecture and service to small to medium sized businesses. To achieve this, Moses worked diligently to build strong partnerships with companies such as SonicWall, Fortinet, HPE, Dell, Super Micro, VMWare, top tier datacenters, and other small businesses in the area with the same passion for customer success. This helped Lumos to package hosting with security and offer the same dependability and security services enterprise companies are afforded but with costs that are reasonable for small to medium sized businesses.

Lumos has placed its core values and open communication as its cornerstone. Emphasis of these values begins heavily during the interview process to ensure that each new hire is a perfect fit for Lumos. Every team member, from the president to the newest technician, is held to the same high standard of integrity. Each member of Lumos is passionate about their work, instilling great confidence in the work of the collective team. The motivation behind branding Lumos was that we would be a light in the workplace that others were drawn towards. This idea has ignited a business model that continues to reach farther as we bring on new clients and team members.

Lumos supports a wide variety of MSP, cybersecurity, and hosting clients. Our largest clients are in the healthcare arena. Other clients are in fields such as financial services, legal services, corporate recruiting, software development, oil and gas, construction, and ecommerce. In addition to supporting managed service users, we have performed IT compliance audits for healthcare and financial organizations. Lumos performs cybersecurity assessments which include penetration testing, a detailed plan for remediating vulnerabilities, employee training, and continued monitoring services. Lumos has also designed custom websites and digital marketing materials for multiple clients.
